KuibyshevAzot Engineering inaugurates production unit

KuibyshevAzot Engineering Plastics India, a subsidiary of the Russian conglomerate PJSC KuibyshevAzot, marked the inauguration of its production plant in Sri City. Aleksandr Gerasimenko, Managing Director underscored the significance of the plant as their maiden manufacturing hub in India, dedicated to producing polyamide and a variety of engineering plastics, aiming to curtail import reliance. These materials find extensive application across sectors such as automotive, electrical, electronics, consumer goods, defence and railways.

The new state-of-the-art facility, sprawled over 3 acres with an initial outlay of Rs 95 crore, is set to employ over 50 skilled technicians. With an initial annual production capacity of 15,000 tonnes and plans to double, the plant serves top automotive manufacturers like Tata, Mahindra, Maruti Suzuki and key players in the Indian Railways and defence sectors, as well as electrical industry leaders such as Siemens, Schneider and Godrej. This venture is a strategic extension of KuibyshevAzot’s global footprint, complementing its existing facilities in Russia, Germany and China.

Oleg N Avdeev, the Russian Consul General in Chennai reflected on his initial visit to Sri City in 2019 and expressed his admiration for the industrial park’s standout features and business-friendly environment. Dr Ravindra Sannareddy noted this being the first Russian company and anticipated that more firms would follow.
