Eastman Auto joins hands with Vande Bharat E-Vehicles

Eastman Auto & Power Ltd. (EAPL), a key player in India’s energy storage sector, has entered into a strategic partnership with Vande Bharat E-Vehicles (Sahanianand E-Vehicles Pvt. Ltd.), a company specializing in electric three-wheelers. The two companies will collaborate to deploy advanced lithium-ion battery technology in the growing electric vehicle (EV) segment.

Eastman Auto & Power Ltd. (EAPL), a key player in India’s energy storage sector, has entered into a strategic partnership with Vande Bharat E-Vehicles (Sahanianand E-Vehicles Pvt. Ltd.), a company specializing in electric three-wheelers. The two companies will collaborate to deploy advanced lithium-ion battery technology in the growing electric vehicle (EV) segment.

Under the agreement, Eastman will supply lithium-ion batteries worth ₹50 crore annually to Vande Bharat E-Vehicles. These batteries will power Vande Bharat’s E-Rickshaws, aimed at making EV adoption more accessible and cost-effective for commercial drivers and fleet operators across the country.

“This partnership marks a significant milestone for Eastman as we join forces with Vande Bharat E-Vehicles to accelerate the growth of electric mobility in India. Our cutting-edge lithium-ion battery technology, combined with their large fleet of E-Rickshaws, will play a pivotal role in sustainable transportation,” said Shekhar Singal, Managing Director, Eastman Auto & Power Ltd.

Sumit Anand, Director at Vande Bharat E-Vehicles, said the company’s mission is to provide reliable, cost-effective, and sustainable mobility solutions. “This MoU is a critical step forward as we work together to empower drivers, enable greener logistics, and bring India closer to its net-zero goals,” he added.
