Evervan Kothari Footwear signs MoU with TN to set up units in Karur and Perambalur

Evervan Kothari Footwear Limited, a subsidiary of the Phoenix Kothari Group, has inked a memorandum of understanding with the Tamil Nadu Industrial Guidance and Export Promotion Bureau, the investment promotion agency of the Government of Tamil Nadu, to set up non-leather footwear manufacturing projects in Karur and Perambalur with an investment of ₹5,000 crore.

Once fully commissioned, these projects are expected to generate employment opportunities for 50,000 people.

The MoU was signed on Wednesday (i.e. February 26) in the presence of the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, M.K. Stalin, at the Secretariat during an event organized by the Department of Industries, Investment Promotion and Commerce.

“As these industries are being set up in the industrially-backward districts of Karur and Perambalur, a significant number of job opportunities will be created for the youth, especially women, in these districts and the surrounding regions,” said a release from the State Government. “This initiative will not only increase individual income levels but also contribute to the overall economic development of the area,” the release added.

The Chairman of Evervan Shoetown Group, Mr. Ran,  and the Chairman and Managing Director of Kothari Industrial Corporation Limited, Mr.Rafiq Ahmed, were present at the MoU signing event.
