With the festive season on the horizon and consumer demand on rise, Godrej Interio has announced to launch a range of solid wood beds for the Tamil Nadu market. Their market research pointed to the southern market’s preference for solid wood than engineered wood. The company has fine-tuned its offerings to the region with a plan to expand its market size from 22 per cent to 35 per cent by FY26.Currently solid wood constitutes just 5 per cent of their offerings and they are looking to expand it to around 15-20 per cent.

Godrej Interio operates with a network of 52 channel partners, 8 exclusive showrooms and 90 retailers in Tamil Nadu. Across South India, this network is further bolstered by 200+ channel partners. In the coming 3 years, Godrej Interio plans to amplify its retail footprint in Tamil Nadu by launching 10 additional exclusive showrooms and 180 retailers.

Highlighting the significance of the southern market, Dev Sarkar, Senior Vice President (B2C), Godrej Interio said, “With a consistent annual growth rate of over 15 per cent in the home furniture market in Tamil Nadu, especially in wardrobes, modular kitchens and interiors, we are well-positioned to seize the emerging opportunities and expand our market presence.”

For the first time in the industry, the company has launched home solutions made out of steel. Kitchens and storage solutions custom made of steel offer high durability and enhanced aesthetics. Taking customer feedback to their design input, the company has come out with a sliding door model in steel almirahs. “In our field research we found that in most of our homes, the space between the cupboard and bed is less, causing a discomfort to access things. To address this, we came with a space saving sliding door solution. I think this is the only such solution and it involved lot of research. We are sure it will benefit the customer immensely,” explained Sarkar.

At present the company enjoys a 22 per cent market share in the organised furniture sector in Tamil Nadu, and aims expand it to 35 per cent share within the next three years. “Our target is to generate revenue of approximately Rs 350 crore from south India by FY26,” added Sarkar.

At the moment, Godrej Interio has a presence in over 450 cities with 450 exclusive showrooms and 520 dealer outlets, making it one of the largest divisions of Godrej & Boyce Mfg. Co. Ltd., a part of the Godrej Group. This enables the company to provide on-time service to tier II, tier III and beyond. The company operates from seven manufacturing facilities located in Mumbai, Khalapur, Haridwar, Shirwal and Bhagwanpur and is renowned for its comprehensive sustainability certifications in the furniture category.

Holding 34 India Design Mark awards to date and offering a wide range of solutions, including furniture for office spaces, homes, educational institutes, healthcare facilities and laboratories, Godrej Interio also provides audio visual and 360 Degree turnkey solutions. The company aims to achieve a growth of over 25 per cent across all product categories.
