Home Credit India, part of TVS VENU, has agreed to acquire Varthana Finance for Rs 967 crore. Varthana is a specialised NBFC supporting affordable education by providing financial solutions and academic support to private schools. They help improve infrastructure and learning outcomes by partnering with school leaders across the country and has built a focused franchise in the education finance sector. “India’s financial services sector continues to offer significant opportunities for long-term growth, driven by rising formalisation, expanding credit access and the increasing need for specialised lending solutions,” said Sudarshan Venu, Chairman, TVS Motor Company. That explains why the Group is aggressively expanding its footprint in the financial services space.
