The vehicle received top marks for both adult and child occupant protection, making it one of the safest cars currently available on Indian roads.

The certification was formally presented in New Delhi by Union Minister for Road Transport & Highways, Nitin Gadkari, to senior executives from Toyota Kirloskar Motor (TKM), Vikram Gulati and Sudeep Dalvi, according to a statement.

Built on Toyota’s New Global Architecture (TNGA) platform, the Innova HyCross integrates the Toyota Safety Sense (TSS) package, which includes a suite of advanced features such as a pre-collision system, lane trace assist, dynamic radar cruise control, blind spot monitor, and automatic high beam.

Additional safety enhancements include six airbags, vehicle stability and traction control, ABS with electronic brakeforce distribution, hill-start assist, parking sensors and cameras, all-wheel disc brakes, a tyre pressure monitoring system, and ISOFIX child seat mounts.

Varinder Wadhwa, Vice President at Toyota Kirloskar Motor, said that safety is central to the company’s design and customer approach. He noted that the Innova HyCross reflects this focus, and the 5-star Bharat NCAP rating reinforces its position as a safe, sustainable, and high-quality mobility choice.

Since its launch in November 2022, the Innova HyCross has sold over 1.35 lakh units, combining SUV-inspired design, hybrid technology, and premium interiors.
