The Chennai-headquartered company has signed a strategic technology collaboration agreement with South Korea-based EV motor manufacturer M/s NMC Motors at a formal ceremony held on Thursday in Chennai.

The agreement marks a significant step in JK Fenner’s expansion into electric mobility. It will initially focus on the development and manufacturing of e-axles for three-wheelers and small commercial vehicles (SCVs), with the possibility of extending to four-wheelers in the future. As part of the partnership, JK Fenner plans to set up a dedicated manufacturing facility for e-axles for three-wheelers, drawing on technical support and expertise from NMC Motors.

Company officials said the collaboration with NMC Motors will enable JK Fenner to integrate advanced EV technologies from its Korean counterpart, supporting in-house product development and localized manufacturing. The move is expected to significantly bolster the company’s footprint in the electric vehicle (EV) sector, both in India and globally.

The agreement also aligns with JK Fenner’s strategic vision to evolve into a comprehensive solutions provider in the EV ecosystem. A company spokesperson expressed optimism about the rapid scaling of EV adoption in India and reaffirmed JK Fenner’s commitment to playing a key role in the country’s transition to sustainable mobility.
