Unveiled under its EV arm, Kinetic Watts and Volts Ltd. (KWV), the Kinetic DX EV comes in two variants — DX and DX+ — with the top-end DX+ priced at ₹1,17,499. Both models will offer a full metal body, spacious floorboard, and segment-leading 37-litre under-seat storage, according to a statement.
Deliveries for the first 35,000 units will begin in September 2025, with bookings open at ₹1,000 via www.kineticev.in.
The DX EV has been co-designed with Italian partners to preserve the original silhouette, while integrating contemporary features such as reverse assist, hill hold, regenerative braking, and a patented Easy Charge retractable cable (DX+ only).
The electric scooter is powered by a 2.6 kWh LFP battery from Range-X, promising up to 116 km IDC range on the DX+ and a top speed of 90 km/h, depending on riding mode (Range, Power, Turbo).
“The legendary Kinetic DX set so many firsts back in the ’90s, that it earned a permanent place in the hearts of millions. With the new DX, we’ve introduced multiple segment-first features that we’re confident, will make it a favourite in the new era of electric mobility,” Ajinkya Firodia, Vice Chairman, Kinetic India said.
Segment-first features include keyless operation (Easy Key), one-touch pillion footrest deployment (Easy Flip), and a dedicated Kinetic Assist button for instant customer service via Bluetooth. The DX+ variant is also equipped with smart telematics such as real-time ride data, geo-fencing, intruder alerts, and the voice-assisted “My Kiney Companion” system that greets, alerts, and even wishes riders on their birthdays.
Built on a sturdy platform with telescopic front suspension and adjustable rear shock absorbers, the DX ensures rider comfort, while a 220mm front disc and 130mm rear drum brake offer combi-braking for added safety.
The DX+ will be offered in five colour options — red, blue, white, silver, and black — while the DX will be available in silver and black. Kinetic Watts and Volts has already secured ₹72 crore in capital from KEL and promoters, with an additional ₹177 crore pledged to scale production.
