Ajna Lens, which won the CES Innovation Award in 2023 for its advanced mixed reality headset, AjnaXR, is known for its cutting-edge work in spatial computing and AI vision. The investment is part of Lenskart’s plan to expand its footprint in the smart glasses segment, which the company views as the future of consumer eyewear, according to a statement.

Peyush Bansal, Co-Founder and CEO of Lenskart, said the company had been leveraging technology to create distinctive and meaningful eyewear experiences for its customers. He stated that the investment marked the next chapter in Lenskart’s smart glass journey, which began with the launch of Phonic, its audio glasses, in December 2024.

Bansal noted that as the smart glasses category continued to grow rapidly, the partnership with Ajna Lens strategically positioned the company to accelerate innovation in the space.

Lenskart plans to combine its expertise in frame design, engineering, and consumer insights—gained from its omnichannel presence across 14 countries—with Ajna Lens’s deep-tech capabilities. The goal is to create smart glasses that are not only technologically advanced but also accessible and lifestyle-friendly.

Founded in 2014 and headquartered in Thane, Mumbai, Ajna Lens has carved a niche in immersive tech, offering solutions powered by its proprietary XR stack.
