The company sold a total of 2,234,266 units, including 1,795,259 units in domestic sales and 332,585 units in exports — both the highest figures in its history.
In March 2025 alone, Maruti Suzuki reported total sales of 192,984 units, comprising 153,134 units sold domestically, 6,882 units to other OEMs and 32,968 units exported, according to a company statement.
Maruti Suzuki maintained its position as India’s number one passenger vehicle exporter for the fourth consecutive year, accounting for 43% of the country’s total vehicle exports. The company’s exports grew by 17.5% compared to the previous year. with top-selling models including Fronx, Jimny, Baleno, Swift, and Dzire. The key export markets were South Africa, Saudi Arabia, Chile, Japan, and Mexico. “FY 2024-25 has been a landmark year for Maruti Suzuki in terms of exports. Aligned with the Government of India’s ‘Make in India’ vision, we attained record exports of 332,585 units. This is a testament to India’s growing stature as a global manufacturing hub,” said Hisashi Takeuchi, MD & CEO, Maruti Suzuki India Ltd.
Future Outlook
Looking ahead, Maruti Suzuki is set to further expand its global footprint. The company recently announced that India will serve as the global manufacturing hub for Suzuki’s first global strategic Battery Electric Vehicle (BEV), the e VITARA. In FY 2025-26, Maruti Suzuki plans to initiate exports of the e VITARA to nearly 100 countries, including Europe and Japan.
Hyundai retains No.2 PV brand tag in FY25
Hyundai Motor India Limited (HMIL) has reinforced its position as India’s second-largest passenger vehicle manufacturer, achieving total sales of 7,62,052 units in FY 24-25. This includes 5,98,666 domestic sales and 1,63,386 export sales, further strengthening India’s role as a key export hub for Hyundai Motor Company.
The Hyundai CRETA has emerged as India’s No.1 SUV in the January- March quarter of FY 24-25, with 52,898 units sold. The SUV segment continues to be a major growth driver for the company, contributing 68.5% to its domestic sales.
The company’s March 2025 sales stood at 67,320 units, marking a 2.6% year-on-year growth (Domestic: 51,820 units, Export: 15,500 units).
HMIL has cumulatively crossed 2.5 million SUV sales and 1.5 million CRETA sales since its inception (domestic + exports).
