This event was organised Messe Frankfurt India.

The expo brought together a diverse spectrum of stakeholders from global tech leaders, national manufacturers and MSMEs to advertising firms, creative studios and print entrepreneurs, all under one roof, highlighting the fast-evolving landscape of media technology, sustainable printing and digital transformation.

Positioned as “Your Gateway to South India’s Advertising & Signage Boom”, the Media Expo Chennai 2025 featured more than 200 exhibitors and attracted over 15,000 business visitors, including procurement heads, marketers, creative agencies, brand consultants and signage solution providers.

The exhibition spanned across multiple zones, showcasing cutting-edge technologies in digital printing & wide-format machines, eco-friendly ink & substrates, LED & neon signage, point-of-purchase displays and OOH (Out-of-Home) advertising solutions

During the inaugural ceremony, Raj Manek, Managing Director, Messe Frankfurt India, said, “The South Indian market is rapidly embracing sustainable print solutions and integrated advertising technologies. This Expo serves as a key catalyst, bridging industry innovators with market demand across Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Kerala, Andhra Pradesh and beyond,” he said.

Green tech takes centre stage

The theme for this year was “sustainability and intelligent automation”. From bio-degradable flex banners and recyclable inks to AI-integrated media planning tools and automated finishing machines, exhibitors demonstrated how environmental responsibility and digital transformation are converging to redefine advertising.

Notable launches included: HP India’s new Latex 2700 printer series with zero solvent emissions, Canon’s AI-enhanced print management system for real-time quality control and ColorJet’s sustainable fabric printer enabled waterless textile printing. InstaSign’s Smart LED Board Systems are integrated with IoT(Internet-of-Things) controls. The rise of print-tech convergence, where print meets digital, data and automatio, was among the most-discussed topics in expert sessions and B2B dialogues.

The concurrent knowledge forums drew enthusiastic participation. Panel discussions addressed the Future of Out-of-Home Advertising in the AI era, Women in Print: Driving Inclusion in a Male-Dominated Sector, and Signage & Branding Strategies for Startups and SMEs. The start-up zone saw rising players such as PrintBot.ai, EcoWraps and VisualVerse impressing investors with sustainable, tech-forward solutions tailored for emerging markets.

The expo also highlighted the Tamil Nadu’s growing prominence as a hub for print and signage manufacturing. With more than 40 per cent of participants from the region, the event reflected strong local innovation in materials, machine tooling and export-ready promotional goods. Industry observers also noted that the event’s timing – coinciding with surging demand in India’s tier-2 and tier-3 cities for brand visibility, print advertising and retail signage – gives the exhibitors a strategic edge in penetrating fast-growing southern markets.

Expansion

With overwhelming feedback from exhibitors and visitors, Messe Frankfurt India announced plans to scale up the 2026 edition with additional pavilions for packaging and industrial label printing and collaborations with educational institutes to promote print design careers.

Print & Media Expo 2025 has not just mirrored the transformation of the advertising and signage industry, it has accelerated it. As print and digital coalesce in new forms of brand storytelling, the expo reinforces Chennai’s standing as a vital nerve centre for India’s creative economy.
