Ramco Cements is on course to expand capacity

The Ramco Cements Ltd. has indicated that its cement and clinker capacities would improve substantially by FY 27.  The capacity improvement is facilitated by de-bottlenecking exercises. 

In a filing with the stock exchange, the company said it had made de-bottlenecking of the cement grinding system in both Line 1 and Line 2 at its Ariyalur plant and enhanced the combined cement grinding capacity from 3.5 million tonnes per annum (MTPA) to 5.5 MTPA.  The company, it said, was also in the process of carrying out de-bottlenecking activities in plants situated at Ramasamy Raja Nagar, Tamil Nadu, and Jayanthipuram, Andhra Pradesh.   

As indicated in February 2024, the company, it said, was  also carrying out brown field expansion at Kolimigundla, Nandyal District, Andhra Pradesh, for additional capacities of 3.15 MTPA of clinker and 1.5 MTPA of cement, respectively. “Now, the proposal of 1.5 MTPA of cement capacity has been enhanced to 3 MTPA,” it said. As a consequence, by FY27, the clinker and cement capacities would reach 20.72 MTPA and 31.14 MTPA, respectively.
