Sundaram Home Finance expects good growth this year

Sundaram Home Finance, the wholly owned subsidiary of Sundaram Finance, expects its prime home finance segment to grow well in the FY2027, with continued focus on the mid-segment of the market.

Sundaram Home Finance net profit increased 37 per cent to Rs 85 crore in the first quarter of FY2026-2027 from Rs 62 crore in the same period last year.

First quarter Disbursements grew 12 per cent to Rs 1665 crore from Rs 1488 crore, while Assets under Management increased 11 per cent to Rs 20,325 crore as on 30 June, 2026.

The disbursements in the Emerging Business segment comprising of small ticket loans and affordable housing finance more than doubled to Rs. 180 crore in the first quarter.

“Economic development in smaller towns is driving rising home ownership and improving affordability, and this is opening up strong growth opportunities for us,” D. Lakshminarayanan, MD, Sundaram Home Finance, said in a statement.

“Our Emerging Business segment has scaled up nicely on the back of this trend, with our expansion across the Southern states helping us register healthy growth in the segment in the first quarter,” he noted.

“Our focus remains firmly on smaller towns where we see strong potential for the Emerging Business segment, particularly affordable housing finance in Tier 3 and 4 towns,” Lakshminarayanan said.

Sundaram Home Finance will continue to expand its emerging business segment network with plans to open 25 more branches this year, he added.
