The MOU was signed in presence of Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M K Stalin.
The MOU signed with Aequs Group for an investment of Rs, 4000 crore, will create 7,000 high quality jobs, State Industries Minister T R B Rajaa said.
This will create a brand new, 250-acre Aerospace and Defence cluster at SIPCOT Shoolagiri in Krishnagiri district, designed to anchor India’s aero-engine and precision aerospace manufacturing ecosystem, he said.
“The project will include an “Aerospace and Defence Park” with integrated facilities for aircraft engine and gearbox components manufacturing, Rajaa said.
“It will house shared industrial infrastructure to create a seamless production and export platform. This investment strengthens our place in global aero-engine supply chains and signals confidence in our infrastructure, skilled workforce and policy continuity. It also reflects our approach to distributed growth. Krishnagiri becomes a high-technology manufacturing centre, creating opportunities for youth and strengthening MSME linkages across the region,” he said.
Japan’s Minebea Mitsumi also signed an MOU for an investment of Rs. 1,980 crore in Tiruvallur district, creating 1,400 high end jobs, Rajaa said.
Minebea Mitsumi is a global major in precision mechanical and electronic components, with operations across 28 countries and supplying critical components to automotive, industrial and electronics sectors worldwide. Its product portfolio spans semiconductors, IGBT modules, BMS, ball bearings, motors, sensors, connectors, switches and power supplies.
This investment strengthens our precision engineering and electronics ecosystem and deepens our integration into global supply chains. Tamil Nadu continues to be the preferred destination for advanced electronics manufacturing, Rajaa said.
