TVS Motor consolidates stake in TVS Credit

TVS Motor Company Ltd on Tuesday acquired 1,13,37,297 equity shares or 4.39 per cent stake in its subsidiary TVS Credit Services Ltd for Rs 711 crore from Lucas-TVS Ltd.

Post the acquisition, TVS Motor’s stake in TVS Credit increases to 85.15 per cent from 80.76 per cent, the company said in a stock exchange filing.

TVS Motor said the acquisition is proposed to consolidate its stake in TVS Credit by acquiring the shares held by the other shareholders and is expected to streamline ownership and facilitate operational efficiencies.

TVS Credit is registered with the Reserve Bank of India as a “non-deposit taking Non-Banking Finance Company”. The company offers diverse lending products such as automobile finance, consumer durable loans and small business loans. During the period ended 31st March 2026, it generated a turnover of Rs. 7,191.14 crore with net profit of Rs. 913.17 crore.

Recently, at TVS Motor annual general meeting its Chairman and Managing Director Sudarshan Venu said the company would evaluate alternatives including a possible separation of the financial services business.
