Priced at ₹1,19,000 (ex-showroom, Bengaluru), the NTORQ 150 marks the company’s entry into the above-125cc scooter market, currently dominated by Piaggio and Yamaha.
The NTORQ brand debuted as a 125cc scooter in 2018 and has since sold over 2 million units. The launch of the NTORQ 150 is expected to further strengthen TVS’s presence in the premium scooter segment.
Claimed to be the quickest scooter in its class, the NTORQ 150 accelerates from 0–60 km/h in just 6.3 seconds and features first-in-segment technologies such as ABS, traction control, and a high-resolution TFT cluster with advanced connectivity.
According to Gaurav Gupta, President – India 2W Business, TVS Motor Company, the new scooter’s design draws inspiration from stealth aircraft. “With this launch, we would like to consolidate our position in the segment,” he added.
The scooter is powered by a 149.7cc race-tuned O3CTech engine, delivering 13.2 PS at 7,000 rpm and 14.2 Nm of torque at 5,500 rpm, with a top speed of 104 km/h.
“The NTORQ 150 meets the rising aspirations of Gen Z riders,” said Aniruddha Haldar, Senior VP – Head, Commuter & EV Business, TVS Motor Company.
The TVS NTORQ 150 features a hi-res TFT cluster with TVS SmartXonnect™, offering 50+ connected features such as Alexa and smartwatch integration, turn-by-turn navigation, vehicle tracking, ride modes, and OTA updates.
The NTORQ 150 comes in two variants — NTORQ and NTORQ 150 with TFT Cluster — and is available in six colours.
Over the past three years, the two-wheeler industry has had a CAGR of 2%, while scooters have grown at 6%, and sporty scooters at 11% — indicating that scooters have been growing at three times the rate of the overall two-wheeler segment, and sporty scooters at twice the rate of regular scooters.
When asked about potential cannibalisation within the NTORQ family — for instance, if NTORQ 125 buyers shift to the 150 — the company said it expects minimal impact. Instead, the new model is expected to draw customers from other segments, including entry-level sporty motorcycles and other scooter categories.
