Ultraviolette launches electric bike at ₹2.49 lakh

Ultraviolette, a Bengaluru-based electric vehicle startup, has launched its new electric motorcycle, the X-47 Crossover, which the company calls the world’s first motorcycle equipped with integrated radar and camera systems as standard, at an introductory price of ₹2.49 lakh. Deliveries will begin in October 2025, with global sales starting in 2026.

The X-47 aims to set a new benchmark in rider safety with UV HyperSense, a proprietary radar-based Advanced Rider Assistance System (ARAS). The 77 GHz long-range radar and dual-camera dashcam offer features such as blind-spot detection, rear-collision warnings, lane-change assist, and overtake alerts, making it the most advanced safety system on a two-wheeler globally, according to a company statement.

Narayan Subramaniam, CEO and Co-founder of Ultraviolette, said, “With the X-47 Crossover, we have built a motorcycle from the ground up to transform the entire riding experience. With that vision, we have introduced the world’s first radar and camera-integrated motorcycle. The fighter jet-inspired X-47 represents a fusion of cutting-edge technology, advanced safety systems, and precision engineering that redefines what riders can expect from electric mobility.”

Powered by a 10.3 kWh battery, the X-47 produces 40 hp and 610 Nm of torque (at the rear wheel), and boasts an IDC range of 323 km. It accelerates from 0–60 km/h in 2.7 seconds and reaches a top speed of 145 km/h. Designed for versatility, it features radial all-terrain tyres, 200 mm ground clearance, and three riding modes—Glide, Combat, and Ballistic, according to a company statement.

The X-47 Crossover is equipped with a host of advanced features aimed at enhancing safety, performance, and convenience. These include an air-cooled onboard charger, developed in-house, which supports Type 2-compatible AC car charging. The newly introduced parallel charging system doubles the charging output using a standard 16A socket, effectively halving the charging time.

For added safety, the motorcycle includes a dual-camera dashcam system with front and rear 1080p cameras, a 5-inch touchscreen display, Wi-Fi/Bluetooth connectivity, crash detection, and emergency video lock functionality.

Niraj Rajmohan, CTO and Co-founder of Ultraviolette, said, “Our vertically integrated approach allows us to engineer for real-world resilience—from thermal stability in extreme conditions to robust, future-ready safety systems.”

The X-47 also incorporates advanced braking and suspension systems, including 10th Gen Bosch dual-channel ABS, three levels of traction control, dynamic regenerative braking, and a Hill Hold Assist feature for enhanced stability. Storage options include 30-litre soft panniers or 32-litre hard panniers, with provisions for a top box.

Enhancing the rider’s digital experience, the bike features a smart connectivity suite powered by VIOLETTE A.I., offering crash alerts, fall detection, remote lockdown, and theft alerts for comprehensive security and control.

Bookings are now open on ultraviolette.com for ₹999, with the ₹2.49 lakh price applicable to the first 1,000 customers.
