Maruti’s new Dzire gets 5-Star rating

The certification was presented by Nitin Gadkari, Union Minister of Road Transport and Highways, at a ceremony in the capital, the company said in a statement.

Alongside the Dzire, Maruti Suzuki’s New Age Baleno also performed notably, securing a 4-star rating in the same testing cycle.

As part of its commitment to passenger safety, Maruti Suzuki announced that all its models, across all variants, will feature six airbags as standard by the end of this year. Currently, ten models—including the Alto K10, Celerio, WagonR, Swift, Dzire, and Brezza—already come equipped with this feature. The company also offers Electronic Stability Programme+ (ESP®) as standard across all 18 of its models.

“It gives me immense pride to see Made-in-India, high-volume mainstream cars achieve exemplary safety ratings under Bharat NCAP. These results reflect our collective push toward safer vehicles on Indian roads,” said Gadkari.

Receiving the Bharat NCAP certificate, Hisashi Takeuchi, Managing Director & CEO of Maruti Suzuki India Ltd, said Bharat NCAP is a vital step in increasing customer awareness and promoting safer mobility.

Both the All-New Dzire and the New Age Baleno are built on Suzuki’s 5th-generation HEARTECT platform and incorporate a range of active and passive safety features designed to maximize occupant protection.

The 5-star Bharat NCAP rating for the Dzire highlights Maruti Suzuki’s lead in delivering advanced safety features to mass-market vehicles in India.
