Jindal Mobilitric awaits nod for E2W

The company has already submitted the EV model for homologation and is currently awaiting government approval. Once the approval is granted, the company plans to roll out the vehicle through its established dealership network.

At present, Jindal Mobilitric has 35 dealers across the country and aims to expand the network to 100 by next year. The company also confirmed that its production facility is ready and will begin manufacturing as soon as regulatory approvals are received.

Further details regarding the product launch and availability will be shared through the company’s official website and social media platforms.

Jindal Worldwide, a leading diversified textile and shirting manufacturer, and one of the world’s largest denim fabric producers, has forayed into the electric vehicle (EV) industry through the acquisition of Earth Energy, an EV startup, in May 2022. Founded in 2017, Earth Energy gained recognition as one of the top 20 most promising startups in 2020, aligning with Jindal’s green vision and sustainability goals.

To bolster its EV manufacturing capabilities, Jindal Mobilitric — the EV division of Jindal Worldwide — is setting up a new manufacturing facility in Ahmedabad. This will complement Earth Energy’s existing plant in Maharashtra, where 97% of production aligns with the “Make in India” initiative. The company is preparing to launch three new electric vehicle models, with a combined production capacity of 250,000 units annually.

Despite ongoing disruptions in the electric vehicle (EV) supply chain—particularly in the availability of key components like magnets—the electric two-wheeler (E2W) segment continued to buck the trend in June.

E2W registrations increased to 1.05 lakh units in June this year, up from just over 1 lakh in May 2025 and significantly higher than the 80,000 units recorded in June 2024.

So far in 2025, E2W registrations have crossed 6 lakh units. The segment recorded total volumes of 1.15 million units in 2024, up from 0.86 million in 2023—marking robust year-on-year growth.
