Customers can now reserve their VinFast EVs through company showrooms or online by paying a fully refundable booking amount of Rs 21,000. The formal market launch is scheduled for August, coinciding with the inauguration of VinFast’s Rs 4,000-crore EV manufacturing plant in Thoothukudi, Tamil Nadu.

The VF 6 and VF 7 are tailored for Indian roads and conditions, offering impressive range, advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS), panoramic roofs and connected technology. While the VF 7 is positioned as a dynamic, premium SUV with features like Level 2 ADAS, wireless charging and a panoramic sunroof, the VF 6 caters to family buyers, blending comfort and practicality with smart infotainment and signature design.

“The response at Bharat Mobility Expo showed India’s appetite for EVs,” said Pham Sanh Chau, CEO, VinFast Asia. “Our VF 6 and VF 7 are designed to meet Indian consumers’ expectations for range, technology and affordability — all while contributing to a greener future,” he added.

The vehicles will be locally assembled at Thoothukudi, with the facility expected to produce up to 150,000 units annually and generate over 3,500 jobs. To support its expansion, VinFast has signed 13 dealer partners to open 32 dealerships in 27 cities, including Delhi, Chennai, Bengaluru and Hyderabad.

VinFast is also investing in a nationwide charging and service ecosystem, partnering with roadGrid, myTVS and Global Assure for real-time charging access and AI-driven diagnostics. Additionally, the company has joined hands with BatX Energies to support battery recycling and create a circular battery economy in India.
