Built for versatility, scalability, and cost optimization, the EL platform is set to drive Ather Energy’s next phase of growth. Leveraging insights from 2.6 million kilometers of field data, the platform features a completely redesigned chassis, powertrain, and electronics stack, the company said in a statement.
The new platform offers a flexible foundation for a range of electric scooters, catering to various consumer segments, use cases, and markets. With a simpler architecture and reduced component count, the platform enables faster assembly and extended service intervals, making it a cost-effective solution that will significantly enhance Ather’s scalability and efficiency.
Alongside the EL platform, Ather introduced AtherStack™ 7.0, a major upgrade to its proprietary technology suite. This version enables voice interaction, allowing riders to communicate with their scooters using natural language. The update also brings enhanced safety features, including Pothole Alerts and Crash Alerts, leveraging data from millions of Ather scooters across India.
Additionally, Ather expanded its theft-safety suite with ParkSafe™ and LockSafe™, which protect vehicles from theft and enable remote immobilization via the app. The company also showcased its next-generation 6 kW fast charger, which delivers double the charging speed of its previous model, providing up to 30 km of range in just 10 minutes. This charger, significantly smaller than its predecessor, also features a built-in tyre inflator to help maintain optimal tyre pressure and improve range.
Ather’s new Infinite Cruise™ system, tailored specifically for Indian riding conditions, was another standout feature. This advanced cruise control system offers three modes—CityCruise™, Hill Control, and Crawl Control—each designed to optimize the riding experience across varied terrains, from urban traffic to hilly roads.
Rizta Z, Ather’s family-oriented scooter, received significant upgrades, including a touchscreen dashboard and a new Eco Mode to balance performance and range. Existing Rizta Z owners will receive an OTA update to activate these features, along with a refreshed user interface for a more intuitive experience.
Ather also unveiled Redux, a concept moto-scooter that showcases the future of performance and innovation. With a lightweight aluminium frame, 3D-printed seat, and adaptive ride dynamics, Redux embodies Ather’s vision for intelligent, high-performance vehicles.
Discussing the EL platform, Tarun Mehta, Co-founder and CEO of Ather Energy, explained that the platform will lay the foundation for Ather’s next phase of growth. “Just as the 450 defined our first chapter, EL will define the next,” he said. He also highlighted the platform’s role in enabling faster innovation, improved serviceability, and an overall enhanced rider experience. “Our new factory at Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar will scale with EL platform products to meet growing demand effectively,” he added.
