CM to lay stone for Evervan Kothari project at Karur

The second phase of Evervan Kothari Footwear project (a unit of Phoenix Kothari Footwear) is set to take shape in Karur.

Tamil Nadu chief minister C Joseph Vijay will lay the foundation stone for the second phase of the footwear project near Karur on Friday. (10.07.2026)

Significantly enough, it will be the first major private sector project for which Vijay will break ground ever since he became the Chief Minister following the stunning victory of TVK (Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam) at the hustings a couple of months ago .

The project is a joint venture between Evervan Group and Kothari Industrial Corporation. It is being established to manufacture footwear for German sportswear giant Adidas.

With an investment of Rs 1,700 crore, the facility is expected to generate employment opportunities for approximately 13, 500 people.
