Tamil Nadu CM Vijay interacts with industry captains

Tamil Nadu’s New Chief Minister C. Joseph Vijay interacted with industrialists from the State for the first time, after assuming office and discussed about various development aspects.

TAFE Chairman and Managing Director Mallika Srinivasan and Vice-Chairman Lakshmi Venu met the Chief Minister at the Secretariat. The Chief Minister held a detailed discussion with them on the State’s industrial growth, job creation, upgrading the manufacturing capability and export growth, according to an official release by the state government.

Vijay also interacted with Thomas Dose, Managing Director, BMW Group Plant Chennai. Discussions were held around BMW’s operations in Chennai, its presence in the electric vehicle segment and also strengthening the company’s operations further.

 

 

 

The Chief Minister also met Hajime Aota, Chairman, Yamaha Motor India Group. and other officials and lauded the company’s contribution towards State’s vehicle manufacturing sector as well as export capability.

Vijay also requested Yamaha to make continued investments in Tamil Nadu and assured the state government’s full co-operation for the company’s expansion plan.

The Chief Minister also met a delegation from the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII).  The delegation included Ravichandran Purushothaman,  Chairman, CII Southern Region (SR), C Devarajan, Chairman, CII Tamil Nadu, M Ponnusamy, Chairman, Ease of Doing Business sub-committee, CII(SR), Shankar Vanavarayar, Past Chairman. CII Tamil Nadu, and J Murugavel, Vice-Chairman, CII Tamil Nadu.

The discussions were held about CII’s long-term partnership with CII in terms of industrial growth, investment promotion and policy-related discussions.

A detailed discussion was also held on measures for ensuring ease of doing business and support for a long-term vision to ensure stable economic and industrial growth.

“Privileged to lead the CII Tamil Nadu delegation in our first courtesy call on the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu C Joseph Vijay. We extended industry’s warmest congratulations and conveyed our full commitment to partner the new government in delivering Tamil Nadu’s USD 1.5 trillion vision by 2036,” Ravichandran Purushothaman said in a Linkedin post.

“The Chief Minister listened patiently to the delegation’s recommendations for nearly 30 minutes. Despite assuming office only recently, he made time to engage with industry leaders and discuss Tamil Nadu’s future,” J Murugavel said in a Linkedin post.

We individually shared our perspectives on the opportunities ahead for Tamil Nadu and the steps the Government should take to achieve the Chief Minister’s vision of making Tamil Nadu a USD 1.5 trillion economy by 2036, he added.

“I shared my thoughts on how Tamil Nadu can become the AI capital of India and build a stronger startup ecosystem,” Murugavel said.
