The new offering is intended to bring together a mix of entertainment, movies, regional programming and sports specifically for South Indian audiences.

South India happens to be the most important in the television market, as entertainment consumption is deeply rooted to the cultural sentiments of people across various regions in the South.

At Rs149, the new service offers a consumer a choice between Tamil, Telugu, Kannada and Malayalam packs and over 225 channels. Each pack contains 30+ channels with a mix of regional entertainment, movies, sports and daily programing. A consumer could choose more than one pack, each adding Rs 50 to the base price.

Dish TV has also introduced a new feature called ‘Sports Always-On’, promising viewers to stay connected even during recharge gaps and at times of service interruptions.

This new package gives consumers the benefit of customising the packs according to their needs, seamless entertainment, simplicity and accessibility at an affordable rate.

“With our new packs starting at Rs149, our focus is to make quality entertainment more accessible and more aligned with how consumers across the region watch television today,” said Manoj Dobhal, CEO and Executive Director, Dish TV India Ltd., at a press conference in Chennai.

“Our broader focus remains on making entertainment a simpler and seamless experience across their favorite content in their preferred language,” he added.

“Our enhanced South India offering has been designed around these insights – combining affordability, strong regional content choices and uninterrupted access into a single consumer-first proposition,” said Sukhpreet Singh, Chief Revenue Officer, Dish TV India Ltd.
