Brar succeeds Vikram Pawah, who will assume the role of CEO for BMW Group Australia and New Zealand.

Brar brings over three decades of experience in the Indian automotive sector. Before joining BMW Group India, he served as Senior Vice President of Sales and Marketing at Kia India. His career spans key leadership roles across major automotive brands, including Maruti Suzuki, Volkswagen, General Motors, Nissan, and Great Wall Motors, according to a statement.

Jean-Philippe Parain, Senior Vice President for the Asia-Pacific, Eastern Europe, Middle East, and Africa region at BMW Group, stated that India is among the fastest-growing markets for the company and serves as a crucial pillar in its long-term success strategy for the region.

Brar brings extensive expertise and a deep understanding of the Indian automotive industry, which positions him well to lead the dynamic market and strengthen BMW Group’s operations in India,” he added.

Vikram Pawah has been with BMW Group since 2017, steering operations in both India and Australia at various intervals. During his most recent tenure in India (2020–2025), he focused on expanding market share, promoting electric mobility, and enhancing the brand’s digital and retail experience, the statement added.

BMW Group India recently reported its highest-ever half-yearly car deliveries, recording a 10% year-on-year growth in the first half of 2025. Between January and June, the company sold a total of 7,774 vehicles across its BMW and MINI brands, driven by strong performance in the second quarter (April-June, 2025). Additionally, BMW Motorrad delivered 2,569 motorcycles during the same period.
