In a move aimed at bolstering agricultural productivity and sustainability, Kothari Industrial Corporation Ltd. (KICL), a Chennai-based multi-venture company, has launched an extensive new line of agro products. These are tailored to the needs of the modern farmers. The new products were unveiled by Dr Rafiq Ahmed, executive chairman of the Kothari Industrial Corporation, at a function in Chennai on 10 June 2025.

The newly introduced products feature 30 high-performance pesticide formulations, spanning insecticides, developed to cater to the evolving challenges in agricultural practices. KICL has also expanded its offering to the realm of sustainable agriculture with the launch of a robust range of bio fertilisers and organic fertilisers, including two neem-based variants. These are expected to provide eco-friendly alternatives for improving soil health and crop yields.

Identifying the rising significance of precision agriculture, the company has also unveiled two advanced liquid foliar fertilisers.  Specifically formulated to promote early crop growth and flowering across various crops, these fertilisers are designed for compatibility with drone-based spraying, power sprayers and knapsack sprayers are adaptable with a broad spectrum of pesticides.

Launching the products, Dr Rafiq Ahmed said, “Kothari Industries has long been recognised for its fertilisers, particularly through our iconic brand, which has become a household name among farmers in South India. While we have ventured into various sectors, including footwear, our core commitment remains firmly rooted in the fertiliser business.”

“Currently, we are focused on establishing a major production facility for NPK (nitrogen phosphorus and potassium) and DAP (diammonium phosphate) fertilisers. Promising developments are underway, including partnerships to secure gas supplies for manufacturing. Our efforts are supported by a team of experienced professionals who have returned to contribute to the company’s growth, driven by their passion for the brand. This is just the beginning — we plan to expand aggressively and reclaim our position as a leading name in the fertiliser industry,” he said.

“With this new range, we affirm our commitment to empowering farmers across the country,” said a spokesperson of the agro division of KICL. “Our goal is to enhance productivity, sustainability and profitability for farming communities through innovation and reliable agricultural solutions,” he added.
