The Indian automotive industry saw milestones of sorts in June. Mahindra Farm Equipment Business (FEB), a part of the Mahindra Group and the world’s largest tractor manufacturer by volume, crossed a landmark production milestone of 70 lakh farm tractors. This comes after the company posted record annual sales of over 526,000 units in FY26. Mahindra Tractors is India’s No.1 tractor brand, with manufacturing across Mumbai, Nagpur, Zaheerabad, Rudrapur, Jaipur and Rajkot and R&D based at Mahindra Research Valley, near Chennai. The company markets products under the Mahindra Tractors and Swaraj Tractors brands, as well as Gromax (maker of the Trakstar and Hindustan range of tractors).
Partnership Of Trust
The association between Force Motors and Mercedes-Benz in engine manufacturing dates back to 1997 and has evolved into a comprehensive partnership that includes manufacturing engines and axles for all Mercedes-Benz cars and SUVs (sports utility vehicles) produced in India. Last month, Force Motors announced the roll-out of the 200,000th engine from its state-of-the-art engine manufacturing facility at Chakan, Pune. “This achievement reflects a partnership built on decades of trust, a shared commitment to excellence and a common belief in strengthening world-class manufacturing in India in line with the Make In India vision,” said Prasan Firodia, MD, Force Motors.
The milestone also resonates beyond the factory floor. The partnership examplifies Indo-German industrial collaboration, one that has quietly and consistently elevated the standards of automotive manufacturing in India, the company said. In an era of a rapidly evolving automotive landscape, where global supply chains increasingly seek reliability, quality, precision and proximity, Force Motors’ ability to deliver German-quality engineering from Indian soil, makes it a model worthy of national and international recognition.
