MRF to pick up 26% stake in Serentica Renewables

Tyre major MRF Ltd. has entered into a power supply and consumption agreement with Serentica Renewables India 26 Private Limited for purchase of solar and wind power under the captive power policy of the Government.

Consequently, MRF has decided to acquire up to 26% of the paid-up equity capital of the Serentica Renewables India 26 Private Limited.

Incorporated in May 2025, Gurugram-based Serentica Renewables India 26 Private Limited is engaged in the business of renewable energy.

It is acting as a developer on build, own, operate, maintain and manage basis.

In a filing with the stock exchange, MRF said that it would be investing Rs.99 for subscribing to the equity share capital of the Serentica Renewables India 26 Private Limited.

“In order to enhance its source of renewable power supply, MRF Limited will acquire and maintain an equity stake (up to 26%) in Serentica Renewables India 26 Private Limited as per the group captive generation mechanism under the Electricity Act,” it said.
