The Tamil Nadu Global Investors’ Meet 2015 was led by Additional Chief Secretary and Principal Secretary-Industry, C V Sankar. Additional Secretary-Industry, M S Shanmugam, Joint Secretary, Industries Department and Nodal Officer, GIM, Dr Vijay Pingale and the Executive Vice Chairman of the Tamil Nadu Industrial Guidance and Export Promotion Bureau, M Velmurugan formed the strong team to conduct GIM 2015. The extensive road shows in several countries and in cities in India attracted wide participation. Investments of around Rs 240,000 crore were committed. Of the 98 MoUs signed, 61 have taken off.
The second GIM is to be held on 23-24 January 2019. Additional Chief Secretary and Principal Secretary, Industry, K Gnanadesikan, is assembling a new team. The old veteran who headed the Guidance Bureau for long and familiar with the industrial development of the last three decades, M Velmurugan, has been recalled to head the Guidance Bureau.
With a provision of Rs 75 crore GIM 2019 is all set to conduct road shows.
