TAFE unveils hybrid tractor at Agritechnica 2025

Tractors and Farm Equipment Limited (TAFE), a Chennai-based tractor and farm equipment manufacturer, unveiled its next-generation electric hybrid tractor, the TAFE EVX75, at the Agritechnica 2025 event held in Hanover, Germany.

Additionally, the company announced that the TAFE EV28 electric tractor was a finalist for the Sustainable Tractor category’s “Tractor of the Year (TOTY) 2026” award.
TAFE also showcased new models such as the TAFE 6065 (65 HP) from the Compact Utility Series, the TAFE 7515 GE (74 HP) for fruit and orchard applications, and the TAFE 1015 (100 HP) with a new cab.
Mallika Srinivasan, Chairman and Managing Director, said, “TAFE aims for global leadership in the sub-100 HP segment, the largest volume category in the world.”
A key component of TAFE’s overarching goal is to provide farmers all over the world with intelligent, affordable and sustainable mechanisation solutions. In addition to actively working with start-up and academic ecosystems to create future-ready products and farm solutions, TAFE has made large investments in precision AgTech, smart farming, automation, electrification and alternative energy technologies.
Vice-Chairman of TAFE Dr Lakshmi Venu said, “TAFE has established a solid reputation for engineering excellence, dependability and quality for more than 65 years. We continue to innovate with the world, for the world, as one of the biggest tractor manufacturers in the world, with operations in 80 countries, providing farmers with cutting-edge and reliable solutions.”
The EU Stage V diesel engine, a 400 V electric battery system and a 75 HP hybrid drivetrain make up the TAFE EVX75. For field operations, it can run in hybrid mode or zero-emission electric mode. The system is intended to lower emissions and increase fuel efficiency.
The tractor has an electro-hydraulic rear lift, independent PTO, high-flow hydraulics, a full HVAC cab, a 3-speed gearbox with a top speed of 40 km/h and a liquid-cooled high-voltage system. Additionally, it is prepared for automation for precise and effective farming operations.
