Big warranty push for Tata e-cars

In a major push to accelerate electric vehicle (EV) adoption in India, Tata Motors, the country’s leading EV and SUV manufacturer, has announced the rollout of a Lifetime High-Voltage (HV) Battery Warranty for its popular Curvv.ev and Nexon.ev 45 kWh models.

The new warranty covers unlimited kilometres and is being extended to both new and existing first-time owners.

This announcement follows the successful introduction of the same warranty with the Harrier.ev earlier this year. Building on that momentum, Tata Motors is now expanding the offering to include both EVs, according to a statement.

“The Lifetime HV Battery Warranty reflects our continued commitment to instilling customer confidence and offering a worry-free ownership experience. This is about creating a future-ready, carefree journey for every TATA.ev buyer,” said Vivek Srivatsa, Chief Commercial Officer of Tata Passenger Electric Mobility Ltd.

The warranty is available to all private individual customers of the Curvv.ev and Nexon.ev 45 kWh, whether they are new buyers or existing first-time owners. The move aims to address one of the most significant concerns surrounding EV ownership — long-term battery reliability and replacement costs.

Tata Motors notes that the warranty not only adds long-term value to EV ownership by supporting resale prospects but also complements the cost savings of ₹8–9 lakh over 10 years in running expenses, making the overall ownership experience more compelling.

In addition, as part of a special loyalty programme, existing TATA.ev customers can avail a benefit of ₹50,000 on the purchase of either the Curvv.ev or Nexon.ev 45 kWh.
