Made in India electric bus from AL
Ashok Leyland has stormed the market with the first ever locally made fully electric bus for the domestic market. Good news came on the export side as well with Rs 1140 crore order from the Tanzanian government.
The country’s first made in India 100 per cent electric bus is a zero-emission vehicle created specifically for Indian road and load conditions.
These buses would cost anywhere between Rs 1.5 crore and Rs 3.5 crore. This electric bus can be charged fully in three hours and can travel upto 120 km on a single charge. Other features include on-board fire detection suppression system, advanced telematics for tracking, regenerative braking, USB mobile chargers and on-board Wi-Fi, among others. Circuit bus, which comes with clutch-less driving, could hit a top speed of 75 kmph. It will have a seating capacity for 31 passengers.
