Within 30 months of operation, the Yamaha plant in Chennai has produced a million units. Marking the occasion, Yamaha Motors announced that a further Rs 200 crore would be invested in Chennai, taking total investment in the city’s plant to Rs. 1500 crore. The annual capacity is expected to reach nine lakhs by 2019.   A unique feature of the Chennai plant is the establishment of a vendor park in the vicinity, a move that has greatly contributed to increasing the efficiency of the production process.
