Chennai ranks best among the world

Hey, Chennai is not just about filter coffee and Marina Beach. It’s not just you and I who love Chennai. Looks like the whole world loves it.  Yes, Chennai tops various lists. In 2014, New York Times ranked Chennai 26th in the ‘52 places to go in 2014.’  In 2015, Lonely Planet named Chennai in its list of top 10 cities to visit.  Most recently, Chennai has been ranked the safest among Indian cities in a Quality of Living survey by Mercer, a global consultancy firm.


Will Kwid prevent the auto industry from a skid?

Capturing the pulse of the Indian car owners, Renault launched the Kwid, a small car with stylish looks. The launch saw the top brass of the Renault Nissan Alliance in Chennai right from Carlos Ghosn, Chairman and CEO unveiling the 98 per cent indigenously made car. Priced around Rs 4 lakh, bookings crossed 1.05 lakh.

 

Jayalalithaa sworn-in as Chief Minister for fifth time

 

In Sep 2014, the Karnataka Trial Court, put J Jayalalithaa behind the bars. It was the first time in history that a sitting chief minister was found guilty and was disqualified as an MLA. However, a few months later, in a swift turnaround of events, the Karnataka High Court paved way for her to become chief minister a fifth time around.  An arithmetical error in computation caused the miracle.
