MCL has a taste of judicial activism!
Despite agreeing to do its share in building a local road the Mahanadi Coalfields Ltd (MCL) was dithering. Then, the matter went to court. The honorable High Court stepped in and expedited executive decision!

Adjudicating over a PIL filed by a group of local residents, the Odisha High Court has asked MCL to deposit money with the state government for construction of a fourlane road in Sundargarh district.

MCL has agreed to fall in line. Though, ceding of space by the administration is a cause for concern, it’s time we say: “you’ve proved that you are the last resort My Lords!”
