Better relations with UK...

“Prime minister’s pet Make in India theme has a very bright future. It is very much practical. Even now you can see that many UK companies are making their products in Chennai,” said Bharat Joshi, British Deputy High Commissioner.

 Joshi referred to the joint efforts of UK and South India. Currently 40,000 people are employed in UK companies in Chennai. UK investments are mainly in healthcare and educational sectors. Medical partnership worth 1 million pounds has been signed this year. In education , Britain works with 12 state governments to help improve standards of English teachers. Over 17 million teachers have benefitted by this programme, he said.
