“The initiative aims to make EV charging more accessible,” says Dr Karthikeyan Santharam, Managing Director and CEO. Ahead of this, the company will launch a trip-planning charging app by April, primarily targeted at commercial and fleet operators. The app will allow drivers to plan routes, identify charging stops in advance and access charging stations without long-term contractual commitments.

As part of its 2026 expansion roadmap, Relux Electric plans to set up at least 25 hyper-charging stations along major national highways. Each station will have power capacity of up to 1 MW and capable of charging electric cars within 10 to 15 minutes. Five to six of these stations are planned in Tamil Nadu, with the remaining located along key highway corridors in north, east and west. The expansion will be funded through Rs 250 crore in project financing raised via special purpose vehicles, without equity dilution. The promoters continue to retain 100 per cent ownership. The company has also introduced a franchise model after achieving EBITDA and PAT profitability for three consecutive years.

In Tamil Nadu, the company has completed feasibility studies for 500 government charging locations and is preparing to open the first nine stations. Relux Electric closed last financial year with Rs 25 crore in revenue and is aiming for a higher growth this year as it expands its charging network across India. n
