The clarification came in response to the recent action taken by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA), in Durg, Chhattisgarh concerning a specific batch of Lotte Choco Pie — Batch No. NM10DC2, manufactured on 10 April 2026, with an expiry date of 9 April 2027.

Lotte said it immediately initiated independent test results with third party NABL labs to verify the findings to ascertain whether the products are fit for consumption as per food safety standards.

The independent test results have confirmed that the preservative levels in the concerned batch are well within the permissible limits and that the product complies with applicable food safety standards, the company said in a statement.

As a precautionary measure, Lotte India said it had voluntarily initiated the recall of the concerned SINGLE SPECIFIC batch across markets while the matter was being independently assessed.

The recall was limited to the specific batch in question, it said.

The company said it will continue to cooperate fully with the relevant authorities and take all necessary steps to bring the matter to closure.
