In August, over 2,900 units of the e Vitara were exported from Pipavav Port, Gujarat, to 12 European countries, including the United Kingdom, Germany, Norway, France, Denmark, Switzerland, Netherlands, Sweden, Hungary, Iceland, Austria, and Belgium, according to a statement.

This commencement of exports follows the inauguration of e Vitara production on August 26 at Maruti Suzuki’s manufacturing plant in Hansalpur, Gujarat by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

The e VITARA is exclusively manufactured at the Gujarat facility and marks a strategic step in Suzuki’s plan to position India as the global production hub for this electric vehicle model.

Hisashi Takeuchi, Managing Director & CEO of Maruti Suzuki India Ltd, said, “The start of e VITARA exports to Europe is a proud and defining moment for us. To satisfy customers in over 100 countries, this product had to be world-class in technology, design, safety, and performance.

“Built on the all-new HEARTECT-e EV platform, the e VITARA blends advanced technology with strength in design. We are confident that its nimble and sharp driving experience will delight European customers,” he added.

The ‘Made in India’ e VITARA is set to be exported to over 100 countries while also being available in the Indian domestic market. The vehicle was previously previewed at the Milan Auto Show in Italy and at the Bharat Mobility Global Expo in New Delhi.
