Thrills for the holiday season
SHORT trips and weekend outings have become a regular affair and benefitted by this are the theme parks at the outskirts of Chennai. V G Panneerdas pioneered the concept of amusement parks and beach resort in 1975. VGP became a house hold name and the amusement park with a man stationed as a statue who would never move became a major attraction. Following this, M G Muthu started the MGM Dizzee world. With more rides and thrills the park shot to instant fame. Many more amusement parks cropped and vanished by time. QueensLand amusement park - owned and run by Rajam Hotels Pvt Ltd. was started in 2003 and specialised in water games. Yet another addition to this bandwagon is EVP World theme park which was opened in February 2012. With addition of more amusement parks around the city, entertainment is guaranteed and so should be safety.
